Florida Energy Star® Residential HVAC Rebate Program
ALERT: The Florida ENERGY STAR® Residential HVAC Rebate Program is currently suspended. Applications will remain on file. However, rebate payments are contingent upon the Florida Legislature’s authorization of the use of $17.5 million in federal funds. Florida received federal approval to use the funds, but state legislative authority is still needed.
The State of Florida plans to distribute approximately $15 million on a first-come, first-served basis to Florida residents eligible for the Energy Star® residential HVAC Rebate Program. The Florida HVAC rebate program is for HVAC equipment purchased from August 30, 2010 until December 31, 2010 or until the funds are depleted.
Requirements:
- This program is for Florida household residents only.
- The potential individual rebate is $1,500.
- One rebate per residence no matter how may systems you have.
- Rebates are given out on a first-come, first-served basis.
- The new equipment purchased must meet the efficiency requirements for the 2010 Federal Energy Tax Credit.
- The home’s ductwork must pass a test verifying that there is no more than 15% leakage to the outside.
- Equipment purchased and installed between 8/30/10 and 12/31/10 is eligible for the Florida HVAC rebate while funds are available.
